Day 3: From North GA to Eureka, MO
This morning we woke up at 7am sharp to have coffee and cereal. I listened to some music with my dad, and told him “Happy Fathers’ Day”. We packed up and drove down the slope to get back on our way. Early in the morning we drove through the mountains of north Georgia into Tennessee.
We rode through the mountains to get to Kentucky, where we continued on to southern Illinois. There we stopped at a O’Charleys and I had a burger and Earl Grey Tea. Then we rode on, and reached St. Louis, Missouri.
St. Louis is huge! I love the way the arch compliments the skyline. I wish I could’ve stuck around to try some soul food, but I don’t exactly feel like getting rid of tomorrow’s outing: Six Flags. We moved on to Eureka, MO, just outside of the city, and pulled up to a Jellystone Park on a hill.
When we got to the Jellystone Park at 5pm, we grabbed a golf cart and unpacked, and then my dad grilled some steaks. They were seasoned by my mom, and let me tell you, they are the dynamic duo – those steaks were juicy and tasty. The mac n cheese we had with it was delectable as well.
Then my dad and I watched an hour and fifteen minute long “movie” I had put together for a Fathers’ Day gift. It was essentially a message from me, and then several music videos of my dad’s favorite music. It included Kenny Chesney, Bob Marley, and Sammy Hagar. I also included a video of an outdoors YouTuber. It was like my version of a mixtape, as I am an AV nerd. He loved it!
We’ve been making great memories so far. It’s all so exciting. I can’t wait to get to Six Flags tomorrow.
Happy Father’s Day, everyone.
See you, Space Cowboy
