Day 10: Into the High Desert
Today we woke up a bit later than usual, at 9, and decided that we would rather see more of Denver than another day at Yellowstone. We ate a quick breakfast, and we packed up and went south, heading for Rock Springs, WY.
The landscapes were still awesome, and then it got even more awesome.
We passed through the Tetons out of the south of Yellowstone National Park. They were beautiful. I couldn’t believe how majestic they were.
Then, the slope went down, and the landscape opened into valleys.
I was recording simultaneously with both the GoPro and my phone, as well as taking snapshots with my polaroid. This five hour drive was a wonderful time through and through.
Rock Springs is located in an arid steppe, or high desert, and it has vast stretches of mostly flat wilderness and unmanaged land surrounding it. Not a whole lot to do in the city, but that’s okay because today is a one night stand. Tomorrow we head around the rockies and into Denver.
See you, Space Cowboy
I have been enjoying your cross country trip and the commentary. Keep up the amazing work of sharing this experience.
